Stop Shia Genocide in Afghanistan
Stop Shia Genocide in Afghanistan
Honorable Member of Congress
https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/letter-to-us-congress/
Shia Muslims in Afghanistan are facing genocide by terrorists who have been brainwashed to believe that it is their religious duty to kill everyone who does not believe what they believe. While Shia Muslims are their main targets, they also are killing Sufis and members of other faith groups. More than 200 people have been killed just in the Muslim holy month of fasting or Ramadan; another hundred remain in critical condition. In the past, large numbers have been killed; it is entirely possible that this history may repeat itself. In addition, there is no reason to expect this to stop at the Afghan border – these killers recognize no borders. They believe that God Himself has ordained their death cult to control the entire world. This must stop and it must stop now.
While the West often points to geopolitical motivations, a closer look at the ideology shows exactly what this is: it is time to identify brands like ISIS, al-Qa’eda, al-Shabaab, and its sister cults by their common ideology. This ideology is promoted by cult-like groups of extremists Deobandi and Salafists. Some people refer to these groups as “takfiris” but that only means that they label others as non-Muslims; built into this term is the underlying assumption of “wajib al-qitaal” or the “obligation of killing” – that these terrorist cults believe it is their religious duty to kill all whom they consider non-Muslims. That includes Shia, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and others including Sunni Sufis. In short, we are all in this together; none of us is safe until all of us are safe from this terrorist cult.
Please sign this petition to raise awareness among U.S. lawmakers and to ask them to take this threat seriously. The U.S. must boldly challenge the narrative and ideology of this death cult and discredit it once and for all. This is no time for timidness or hesitation; however, many in the West are afraid that criticizing the ideology of the terrorists could be offensive to Muslims. Our petition makes clear: that what offends us most is when our people are killed. Please circulate to your members, it is time for international organizations and the international community to boldly use their voice and influence to discredit these terrorists, their narratives, and their ideology.
Please raise your voices in support of your fellow Shia Muslims and all good people everywhere, before this escalates to a Rwanda-type of situation. Please urge your family and friends and members of your organizations to sign the petition and share it on social media. This Eid lets’s remember those under the threat of death, many of whom have lost loved ones.

The moderate Deobandis in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and all over over the world need to speak up and condemn the extremists.
